Faulkner County Homeschool Athletic Association Guidelines

Purpose of the Faulkner County Homeschool Athletic Association:

1.  To develop and oversee the athletic program for homeschoolers in Faulkner County.  We intend to be  guided by the  application of Christian principles of serving God and giving honor and glory to Him.

2.  To facilitate the development of conference schedules and tournaments and develop participation rules.

3.  Provide a means of communication and exchange of ideas with other  home-education and private school     activity/athletic associations promoting the benefits and biblical basis of non-government education.

Determination of membership:

1. Family must have a child participating in the athletic program.
2. Agree/sign existing guidelines.
3. Agree/sign release of liability.
4. Pay $50.00 fee per player per sport played.

Rules:
A.  Conduct of players:
1.  Language: Profanity, lewd remarks, disrespectful remarks, and coarse jesting will not be tolerated.
2.  Respect will be expected toward the coaches, other players and their families, players from other teams, referees and officials.
3.  Matters of conscience with players and their families will be respected.
4.  The dress of the players will be uniforms with full-length crew collar T-shirts with sleeves extending to the angle of the shoulder, shorts reaching from the waist to the knee, and socks to be worn with the athletic shoes.  There will be uniformity of the uniforms within each team.


B.  Fund-raisers
1.  The types of fund raising activities acceptable are sales at the admission gate, walk-a-thons, sales of merchandise or services.  All subject to the approval by the athletic board.
2.  Raffles or any type of gambling will not be allowed as fund raisers.
3.  Money raised will be used to pay rental fees for the game facilities, officials, tournaments costs, and program  administration fees.

C.  Coaches
1.  The athletic board will consider all coaches for approval.
2.  Responsibilities of the coaches:
  a.  Arrange practices and games
  b.  Enforce the association rules
  c.  Discipline or removal of players

D.  Girls and Boys Sports
1.  Team names will be subject to approval by the board.
2.  Eligibility for playing on the Faulkner County teams will be as to whether the player lives closer to  Conway than to  any other team location.
3.  Married students will not be allowed to play on the Faulkner County homeschool athletic teams.
4.  There will be no teams with both boys and girls on the same team for contact sports.
5.  Boys and girls will not practice together in contact sports.
6.  A student who is under current disciplinary action by other schools, has a criminal  record, on probation or facing  criminal charges will not be allowed to play.
7.  Age limits are as stated by conference rules.
8.  The Faulkner County Homeschool Athletic Association will not have cheerleading for its teams due to conscientious objections of some parents and players.
